can't afford a concealer brush so I'm using the mini sponge the kind used to apply eye shadow.
I notice yesterday suddenly that I have eye bags! could this be the cause? Maybe I stretch\pull the skin under my eyes too much by using the sponge?Applying eye concealer with mini sponge causes eyebags?
In this case, you are probably pressing to hard. Eyeshadow sponges (i assume you mean the tiny ones on a stick) are meant for loose powder. You would probably do a better job using your ring finger and patting the concealer on lightly.
Also, what type of concealer are you using?
Always use a SALMON colour, not yellow/white
because most people's undereye is a blueish colour, mixing blue with yellow gives you green so always use Salmon, good for your body, good for your make-up too! This will work for everyone and should hide those dark puffy eyes.
Also, if you mean red puffiness, try eyedrops on the puffy bits, a top make-up artist, cant remember her name, said this was very good for taking away the redness, also as good for you blemishes and getting red off that too!
A tip is to put a few drop on a spoon, freeze it and, using the frozen disc, put it on your blemish - it takes away the redness AND some of the swelling. Perfect
Hope this helps xApplying eye concealer with mini sponge causes eyebags?
It could be a reaction to the sponge, or the pressure used when applying your concealer. Professional brushes can be expensive, yes, but why don't you start with a cheap manicare brush, or go into Spotlight and Lincraft. They supply professional brushes at a fraction of the cost, they may not be labelled make-up brushes, but if you pick the right shape, they are exactly the same. I have been a qualified make-up artist for years, and have many 'art' brushes in my kit.
Hey there, its a personal preferance to how you like applying your foundation, the sponge your using if it is an eye shadow brush would be a gentle fiber as its main use would be for around the delicate eye area, however you need to be aware that the skin around your eyes should be treated as if its tissue paper, its very delicate skin and should not be tugged at. so if you must use a sponge try dabbing the foundation on softly .... (try another method, using your ring fingers or pinkys lightly dab the foundation on around the eye area, making sure its well blended..... i hope i helped
You are pressing down too hard. Apply it with your ring finger lightly.
